:: A rare late 19th-century Persian Fereghan rug (circa 1875-1895) with a refined Tree of Life field rising from tiered vases and framed by a wide floral border. Notable for its reconciled corners, pomegranate minor border, and a striking abrash of greens, the piece combines courtly scale with workshop charm. Natural dyes show beautiful age with mellowed jewel tones and subtle oxidation to the browns. Colors and shades include: Ivory, jade green, ocean green, terracotta, madder root red, burgundy wine red, sky blue, pale coffee brown, lime green, chestnut rust, and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. One old mend, measuring approximately 9 inches on the left side. A few small scattered areas of very minor restoration to the side selvage. One very faint old stain at the top outer border in a tea colored shade. Kindly note this rug was washed shortly before photographing, the waviness seen in the images has since dissipated and the rug lies flat. Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Fereghan carpet made in Persia circa 1890's vintage. Size measures 5'2" x 9'2".
